"As the pious man cannot live in peace if the wicked neighbour does not like it," as Friedrich Schiller already said in Wilhelm Tell. Of course, this does not mean that every neighbour gossips about you throughout the community. Nor does every disagreement with them end at the infamous "wire fence". However, if you discover that your neighbour or other individuals speak badly about you or insult you face to face, then contact the private detectives of the Kurtz Detective Agency Wuppertal: +49 202 5289 0063.
Sometimes neighbourhood disputes begin entirely innocently and especially unintentionally, arising from a misunderstanding, as in the following case example:
Ms Schäfer, a cashier in a supermarket, is on her way home when her neighbour, Mr Neumann, approaches her. Ms Schäfer is deeply lost in thought, still pondering why there had been a 50-euro discrepancy in the till that evening. Mr Neumann greets her as he passes, but receives no response – Ms Schäfer had neither noticed him nor heard the greeting. She walks straight home. Mr Neumann is presumably puzzled. Two days later, an almost identical incident occurs, with the only difference being that Ms Schäfer, due to the till discrepancy, had received a written warning from her employer for lack of diligence. Once again, she is absent-minded and fails to notice Mr Neumann. He now interprets her behaviour as a personal affront.
Now Mr Neumann is offended. In the following months, Ms Schäfer is confronted with him ignoring her, leaving notes on her door about when she should clean the communal hallway, instructing her to store her bicycle in the basement rather than on the pavement, requesting that she not take out her rubbish at the crack of dawn because the lid clattering wakes him, asking her to turn down the music when she has guests, and much more. At first, Ms Schäfer pays little attention to it, but when the neighbours consistently stop talking and visibly look away whenever she passes, she becomes suspicious.
Investigations reveal that Mr Neumann had spread the claim that Ms Schäfer, on the one hand, performed her household duties very inadequately ("sloppy") and, on the other, constantly entertained changing male acquaintances ("immoral"). Apparently, she had become so arrogant because of well-off gentlemen and no longer greeted the "common folk".
